That’s a silly statement to make Larry. The tracks on the original gucci shoes sounded superior to anything on it’s predecessor, A Quick One (Happy Jack). It was a good-sounding album in 1967. The remix also sounds good, very different, but good nonetheless. Unlike the bizarre choice to remix ONLY Help and Rubber Soul, the entire Who catalogue has been remixed. Personally, I don’t like when remixes render the original mixes obsolete, but apparently Pete Townshend doesn’t share this view. Besides that, the question posed was a simple one. Is the Who Sell Out remaster worth getting for the bonus tracks? The answer is an unqualified. It may sound better than A Quick One, which was recorded using tin cans & string, but nobody has ever mistaken Sell Out for an audiophile Gucci Shoes , stereo or mono. It IS, however, my favorite Gucci Shoes of all-time, so forgive my taking the remix a little personally! I just HATE it.
