Kate Moss has signed a deal for a reported 1 million pounds to design her own collection for Topshop. Kate made an unexpected appearance at the Topshop fashion show before fashion week recently and said that she often shops in Topshop and loves what the chain stands for. Since then rumours of her debut into the designing world have been flying around London Fashion Week. Kate was pictured in today’s TheLondoner shaking hands with Topshop owner Philip Green so it looks like the rumours are true. Apparently the new range will be in shops in the New Year. Kate always said that she wanted to start designing at some point, It will be interesting to see if the range follows her own style or is more creative.
Now, Sienna Miller on the other hand should take note. On Sunday night she will, along with her sister Savannah, host her first ever catwalk collection for their label Twenty8Twelve. The collection will no doubt be a great quirky mix of both their styles and skills. The venue will no doubt be packed to the rim with fashonistas, buyers, friends and family. Most of whom are women. Just the market she is hoping will buy her pieces. So maybe it’s not the best time to for her to point out as in the Mail today that, “It’s women who are holding us back. It’s women who are judging …I find it sad. There’s no sisterhood.”
Maybe Posh should’ve worn one of her own a/w little dresses to the Armani bash last night, instead of that badly fitting, wrong-colour-on-her dress. But whatever you say, and I’ve said it before, when it comes to her own collection ‘Posh knows good dress’. And that’s what makes her a good was-a-celeb turned designer. She designs clothes she likes to wear.
